Please share with us any ideas of training you would be interested in, whether this is specific to your department, or whether you think it is something our wider team would enjoy. 

As always, please remember to ask your manager before booking on to any of our training, to ensure it works with Hotel operations. Once you have booked, we take this as confirmed.

Social Club

Christmas at Kinross

Celebrate the festive season surrounded by vineyard views at the stunning Kinross Winery! Join us on Friday, 5 December, from 5pm–8pm for an evening of great company, a delicious sit-down meal, and the chance to enjoy Kinross’ own locally crafted wines, proudly on display for the night.

Both alcoholic (featuring their wines) and non-alcoholic options will be available, and transport will be provided, so you can simply relax and enjoy.

Wellbeing

Having "good wellbeing" means we have the tools, support and environments we need to be who we are and to build and sustain lives worth living. We believe that engagement at work affects our wellbeing significantly, from maintaining a good work/life balance, having long term goals in place, to having a community around us and colleagues you can have tough conversations with. 

Our Wellbeing Committee enjoy running initiatives and events such as our Quiz Nights and our Annual Millbrook Olympics. If you have a passion for Wellbeing at Work, we would love you to join us. Please email us at people.culture@millbrook.co.nz.

Health & Safety is an important part of life here at Millbrook. We hold monthly committee meetings to discuss how we can improve our safety for employees and guests.

Long Service Awards:

Whilst we hope each department regularly recognises individuals that work hard within your team, we also have resort-wide recognition each month. Our award categories are

Above & Beyond - they have gone the extra mile OR taken ownership of a team/ project/ challenge OR have ventured outside of their comfort zone. 

Investing in the Future - Investing in others (through training others) OR themselves (through upskilling) OR in Millbrook (through instigating sustainability ideas).

Collaboration & Support - always have a positive attitude, nothing is too hard to help out. Lives by the late Mr Ishii’s motto “a nice place for nice people”.

Millbrook Annual Awards

Who has shown true Millbrook spirit this year?

We have 8 wonderful awards with amazing prizes to be announced at our Christmas Party (11th Dec).

Everyone is welcome to nominate one team member for each of the categories below. To nominate please indicate the award you are nominating for, the team members first and last name you wish to nominate, their department, and a clear reason explaining why you have chosen them. 

Please e-mail nominations all together to rebecca.readings@millbrook.co.nz by Monday 8th of December, to give time for nominations to be organized and winners chosen by our directors!

Please be advised that for all categories team members must have been here for a minimum of 6 months, except the lifetime which is 10+ years, and Rookie which is anytime shorter than a year.

Current Lunch Menu

Monday: Toasted Sandwiches - selection of ham, cheese, and salads. Option to toast

Tuesday: Sausages & Salads - pork or vegetarian

Wednesday: Nachos - beef or vegetarian, with tortilla chips, cheese and sour cream

Thursday: Sweet & Sour Sausages - with rice and toppings

Friday: Lasagne/ Shepherds Pie (alternating weeks) - beef or vegetarian

Saturday: Vegetable Quiche or Potato Bake with wedges

Sunday: Chef's Choice Pasta Bake - vegetarian.

Fresh salads offered daily. Gluten free/ dairy free/ dietary restrictions available on request - just ask the chef.
