Team Benefits

Wellbeing

Having "good wellbeing" means we have the tools, support and environments we need to be who we are and to build and sustain lives worth living. We believe that engagement at work affects our wellbeing significantly, from maintaining a good work/life balance, having long term goals in place, to having a community around us and colleagues you can have tough conversations with.

Our Wellbeing Committee enjoy running initiatives and events such as our Quiz Nights and our Annual Millbrook Olympics. If you have a passion for Wellbeing at Work, we would love you to join us. Please email us at people.culture@millbrook.co.nz

If you would like to meet with our team for Career Coaching, please email us at people.culture@millbrook.co.nz

Health & Safety

Health & Safety is an important part of life here at Millbrook. We hold monthly committee meetings to discuss how we can improve our safety for employees and guests.

If there is any Health & Safety training you or your team require, please email LJ on lisa.meikle@millbrook.co.nz

Work safe - Play safe - Live safe

Recognition & Reward

We like to recognise our team members through two initiatives:

Long Service Awards:

Please join us in celebrating the wonderful members of our team who shared anniversaries with us over the past month. Thank you for all your hard work over the past year and cheers to another year!

Excellence Awards: Whilst we hope each department regularly recognised individuals that work hard within your team, we also have resort-wide recognition each month.

Above & Beyond - they have gone the extra mile or taken ownership of a team/project/challenge OR have ventured outside of their comfort zone.

Investing in the Future - Investing in others (through training others) OR themselves (through upskilling) OR in Millbrook (through instigating sustainability ideas).

Collaboration & Support - always have a positive attitude, nothing is too hard to help out. Lives by the late Mr Ishii’s motto “a nice place for nice people”.

If you think someone has gone above and beyond in their role this month, please reach out to people.culture@millbrook.co.nz and tell us why!

Queenstown Marathon Weekend

On Saturday 14th November, Millbrook will play host to the Queenstown International Marathon - around 2,000 people will run down the Avenue to start their 42km run into Queenstown.

For anyone who takes the shuttle, please be aware of the following changes on Saturday 14 November:
The Queenstown shuttle on marathon day will only go via Malaghans road for most of the day – we cannot guarantee when it will be opened up for Frankton/Shotover etc. This means on this day team members cannot get picked up/ dropped off from Frankton, Shotover, Lake Hayes etc.

The pick up/drop off in Queenstown will be at Queenstown Primary School on Robins Road and not on Duke Street.

You will need to organise own way to work, or to Queenstown. Please also expect delays on the staff shuttle service so if you need to be at work at a certain time you need to consider when you should be booking the shuttle. The shuttle will also get booked out going to/from Queenstown later in the day so we recommend you pre-book your return in advance.

For anyone who normally drives to work we suggest having a chat to your team to organise some carpooling to help other team members, and give LOTS of extra time to get to work.

Please consider road closures in how you will get to work.

Please refer to the Queenstown Marathon website for more information.

Sustainability

Did you know we recently passed a milestone on our sustainability journey! Through our Greener Stays programme, we have been able to assist the Whakatipu Reforestation Trust with planting 2,000 trees.
