Our resort is committed to the sustainability of golf tourism in New Zealand and is proud to be investing into this industry with the addition of a brand new nine holes and improved resort facilities.

Our five-star golf and lifestyle resort has forged ahead with substantial investment plans as we opened our nine new holes to the public in January 2022.  In a boost to New Zealand golf tourism, this $4 million-plus infrastructure investment is aimed at enhancing our member and guest experiences with the launch of our 36 hole golf offering.

In addition to our previous 27 holes, the new nine golf holes constructed at Mill Farm make Millbrook one of only two golf courses in New Zealand to offer two distinctly different 18-hole courses.

Members will have exclusive use of 18-holes on any given day throughout the season, while guests get to enjoy the alternate course. This way, our year-round golf opportunities remain dynamic and diverse.

Golf construction works started March 2021 on a new practice putting green near the Golf Shop and Reception building, along with the reconfiguration of the tees on the Remarkables No. 1 hole. This work made way for the construction of new golf cart storage barns and cart wash-down facilities.

A 25m-wide tree lined boulevard has been created between the new cart barns and Golf Shop, which has been designed as a shared space for pedestrians, golf carts and vehicles from the reception area towards The Spa, Health & Fitness Centre and the new Coronet golf course.

The Golf Shop has also undergone major alterations and renovations, including French doors opening out onto a new deck towards the starters area, and a new retail fit-out.

An improved arrival court adjacent the Reception building creates a larger and safer forecourt with views over the new practice putting green and the Remarkables. Significant hard and soft landscaping improvements designed by Baxter Design and a new porters’ shed complete the improvements in this area.

Our latest development is part of continued planned investment in improvements with work nearly complete on our $50 million development of the Mill Farm area, which houses the new golf holes and two residential neighborhoods. The 67-hectare site will be home to what we believe to be the highest commercial golf tee in the country at 480 metres above sea level.

We continue to invest in the resort’s long-term future and the timing could not be better to carry out this work in the build-up to the 2023 New Zealand Open.

A phased opening of these new areas commence Christmas 2021, with all works completed February 2022.
