How long have you worked at Millbrook?

I started in February 2022.

What made you apply for the position of Spa Receptionist?

I’m a people person and I love working in an environment centered around hospitality. I enjoy creating and providing a memorable five-star experience for others, however I also wanted more time behind a computer and more time to create my day that fits well within a company.

I remember coming across the advertisement and asking my peers about Millbrook – nothing but positive reviews.  I was seeking an encouraging environment with learning opportunities along the way, and so far, it has ticked all my boxes.

What do you enjoy most about being the receptionist at The Spa?

I enjoy watching our clients leave very happy and relaxed, after they have come in stressed and tense. It makes me feel proud of the team we have here at The Spa. I love hearing all the positive reviews and being the person who gets to pass them onto the therapists.

Organising bookings would also have to be a favorite job of mine. I like the challenge of arranging the schedule to work perfectly.

What is a useful skill you have learnt?

Communicating effortlessly. I have a passion for talking to people and understanding others. I have learnt how to better communicate smoothly, including all details, and answering questions within a sentence. It has improved the efficiency of my work, and it is a skill I will be able to hold on to.

What do you like most about working at Millbrook?

The beautiful scenery and the wildlife. I love watching the ducks in the pond on my lunch break, listening to birds while on the computer, and even just looking up and being able to see the greenery from my desk. Not to mention one or two cats.

What is your favorite product at The Spa?

The Spa at Millbrook holds good quality products, such as Elemis and the Tailor range. My favourite product would be the Elemis Gentle Rose Exfoliator, it is gentle on your skin and works wonders.

What does your typical day look like?

I am the first person in the door! I walk in with my coffee and get everything turned on, set up and ready to roll.

I’ll greet our clients and help out where I can. I answer any questions or queries, whether in-person, via email or a phone call. I make bookings and hear about people’s days. I get to walk outside and pat a cat or two, hear positive feedback and help clients re-book. As well as re-stocking The Spa, I learn from the knowledgeable therapists – I am always asking questions!

I am the last one to leave so I prepare for another good day.
