Meet Daniel, one of Millbrook's Personal Trainers.
23 Sep 2022
Why did you decide to become a Personal Trainer?
From age 16, I had a passion for keeping physically fit and started weight training in a gym and have continued to do so ever since. I want to encourage people to get in the gym and perform exercises correctly, enabling them to achieve results. The feel-good dopamine release from exercise and the adrenaline rush is an amazing feeling. I want to help you feel good and live an active, healthy lifestyle. I also feel exercise is imperative for good mental wellbeing, so if I can help people exercise, I will do so as this will improve their mental health.
What areas do you specialise in?
I specialise in strength training, conditioning, weight loss and mobility.
What do you love about your job?
The people, being in a gym environment, and getting to wear a tracksuit and trainers to work every day!
What are your greatest strengths as a Personal Trainer?
My greatest strengths as a Personal Trainer would be my people skills. I have the ability to build a relationship with anyone.
How do you motivate yourself to achieve your health and fitness goals?
It is a non-negotiable, I put exercise at the top of my priority list. Discipline; I follow a strict gruelling workout programme for myself to keep in top shape, working out 6x per week, working towards building a strong and robust physique, but also importantly keeping my mental health in check with exercise.
Who do you look up to as a role model?
Well known, I would look up to Ross Edgley, extreme adventurer, and David Goggins, a former U.S Navy Seal. On a personal level, I would look up to mentors such as Phil Parkinson, owner of The Circuit Factory Dubai, Gary Gregory, Co-owner Industrial Fitness in Queenstown and Millbrook Personal Trainer colleagues, Denise Lockhart and Luke Marshall- GOATS.
