The Resort Homes are private residences managed by Millbrook Resort, we kindly ask that all guests staying within this accommodation type respects our property owners by complying with the following requests:

22 Settler's Way Property Manual

All of our Resort Homes and Luxury Retreat properties have been specifically tailored and designed to the requirements of individual owners, making your stay a unique experience.  Within this manual we have included some information specific to this property relating to the operation of various components found within the house.   We would like to remind you that this is a residential area with neighbouring properties and we ask that noise levels are kept to a minimum. Should any accidental damage occur, please inform a member of staff immediately to avoid any additional charges being incurred. Thank you for your care and consideration.

PHONES
Millbrook’s Hotel system is linked to the phone/s in this property.

PRIVATE STORAGE
The owner has various cupboards and/or rooms around the property locked for private storage.

RUBBISH
There is a waste disposal unit located in your kitchen sink where you can dispose of soft food scraps and vegetable peel.  Place the items you want to dispose of down the drain, turn on the cold water tap so water is running and press the button between the power outlets (located on the wall to the right of the sink) to start the grinding. Press the button again to stop the machine.  Please do not place chicken, fish or meat bones, banana skins (or any fibrous or hard foods) in the unit.

There are rubbish bins located in a cupboard to the right side of the kitchen sink. Outside of the property there is a GENERAL WASTE rubbish bin (red lid) which are collected on a Monday and a GLASS BOTTLE rubbish bin (blue lid) which are collected on a Friday. Please rinse all bottles and remove any lids before disposing of them to avoid contamination. 

FIRE EXTINGUISHER
A small fire extinguisher can be found under the kitchen sink.

  1. Pull the pin on the extinguisher.
  2. Aim the nozzle toward the base of the fire.
  3. Squeeze the handle to release the extinguisher agent.
  4. Sweep from side to side until the flames are extinguished.

If the extinguisher is emptied and the fire is still not out, evacuate the property immediately.

GARAGE
Guests are welcome to use the garage during their stay.

HEATING

UNDER-FLOOR (FOYER, LAUNDRY & KITCHEN TILED AREAS)
The under-floor heating will be turned on prior to your arrival during cooler months.  However, if you want to adjust the heat level the two thermostat panels are located at the bottom of the stairs by the front door and also in the crockery cupboard in the kitchen.  To change the heating level, simply open the side panel on the right side of the thermostat and use buttons to adjust.

UNDER-FLOOR (BATHROOMS)
The heating for these floors is on a timer and we ask guests not to adjust the settings.  There are also heated ceiling lamps controlled by the switched labelled HEAT and heated towel rails controlled by the switch beside each one.

WALL HEATERS (UPSTAIRS BEDROOMS)

  1. Ensure the heater is switched on at the wall and on the side of the heater.
  2. Press the POWER button on the bottom right side of the screen and use the + and symbols to adjust the temperature. If the heater is already on, press anywhere on the screen beneath the temperature for the display to illuminate.
  3. The heater’s thermostat is set so that if the target temperature is reached, the heater will run in standby mode and when the temperature drops, it will automatically increase to the target temperature again.
  4. Please do not adjust any other settings other than pressing + or to adjust the temperature, or it may interfere with the efficiency of the heater.
  5. The heater will automatically lock after 3 minutes of normal operation and the  symbol will appear.  To unlock it, press the button.



    IMPORTANT:  Please do not place anything up against these heaters or use them as drying appliances.

WALL HEATER (DINING ROOM)
Simply press the red  button and use the buttons to adjust the heating level.  Please turn off the heater when not in use.

GAS FIREPLACE (LOUNGE)

To operate the gas fireplace, first pull down the grill underneath the glass screen.

  1. Press and hold the centre button with the  symbols on it while simultaneously pressing the larger black igniter button the far-right side in and out until the pilot light is lit.
  2. If the flames don’t appear automatically after a few seconds, press the larger  button to get them going. There is no heat control, the fire is either on or off.

  3. To turn the fire off, press the button with the white circle inside it on the far-left of the panel.

IMPORTANT:  The glass gets very hot. Never place items close to or up against the fireplace. If there is no fireguard, one can be requested from Reception to be delivered to the property. Always switch off the fireplace when the property is vacant.

KITCHEN
The kitchen is equipped with the following appliances for your convenience:

HOB
To use the gas hob:

  1. The cooking rings are indicated by the black circle in the square next to each dial.
  2. To turn the gas ring on, push down on the dial while turning it to the left until the flames appear.
  3. Adjust the level of the flame by turning the dial further to the left.

NB:  Always ensure the gas is switched off after use.

OVEN

  1. The time must be set in order to use the oven. If it’s not, press and hold the and  buttons simultaneously, then press + or to adjust to the correct time of day.
  2. Use the FUNCTION dial to choose the cooking programme you require.
  3. Then set the temperature for the cooking programme using the TEMPERATURE dial (this will differ slightly with each cooking setting).
  4. When finished cooking, turn both dials to the 0

MICROWAVE
For quick use:

  1. Press the MICRO POWER button until an arrow appears underneath your desired power level, i.e. High, Medium or Low.
  2. Then turn the dial until the desired cooking time appears on the screen. NB: For High Power, up to 30 minutes but for other power options, up to 90 minutes for a single stage.
  3. Press the START button.
  4. For turbo defrost, press INVERTER TURBO DEFROST once and set the weight of the food by turning the dial, then press START.
  5. When finished cooking, press the STOP/RESET button.

     

EXTRACTOR FAN

  1. Pull the door open and the fan should start automatically but if it doesn’t push the switch to I, II or III depending on the strength you want.
  2. To light the hob area, push the switch next to the lightbulb icon to I.

DISHWASHER
The dishwasher tablets are located in the cupboard under the sink.

  1. Load your dishes into the dish washer, being careful not to block the rotating arm.
  2. Place the dishwashing tablet in the detergent dispenser on the inside of the door and press it closed. Then close the door to the dishwasher.
  3. Turn on the dishwasher using the  button.
  4. Press the ꓥ ꓦ arrow keys on the display panel to select the desired wash cycle. NB:  A cycle temperature of 50°C or more is recommended to fully disolve the dish tablet.
  5. Press the PAUSE/START button to begin the wash cycle.

LAUNDRY
For your convenience, the property is equipped with a washing machine and a dryer, as well as an iron and ironing board.

WASHING MACHINE
For quick use:

  1. Place your clothes into the machine.
  2. Take off the fabric softener dispenser cap and place the laundry powder down the cylinder – then replace the cap and close the lid.
  3. Press the
  4. All settings can be adjusted to your washing preferences by pressing the black arrows.
  5. Press the START/PAUSE button to begin the washing process.

TUMBLE DRYER
For quick use:

  1. Place your clothes in the machine.
  2. Take fabric softener cap off the agitator and place the laundry powder inside it – then put the cap back on.
  3. Press the orange  button.
  4. Select the DRYNESS level and the TEMPERATURE you require.
  5. Press the START/PAUSE button.
  6. Please remove lint from the filter after each drying cycle.

HOME ENTERTAINMENT

TV (LOUNGE)

  1. To turn on the TV, press the red POWER button on the SKY remote control and use this same remote to adjust the volume and change the TV channels.
  2. To turn off the TV, press the red POWER button again.

BLUETOOTH SPEAKER (DINING ROOM & MASTER BEDROOM)

  1. Press the  button.
  2. Press SOURCE until  is displayed.
  3. Go into your device’s Bluetooth settings and choose/pair with SDIG SUNDAY.
  4. You can use either your device’s functions or those on top of the speaker to adjust volume, fast forward, pause, etc.

Further operating instructions for other functions on this speaker can be found in the drawer of the side table on which the speaker is sitting in the dining room.

OUTDOORS

BBQ

  1. Open the lid and unfold the work surfaces.
  2. Make sure the control knob is turned OFF (push control knob in and turn clockwise to ensure that it is in the OFF position).
  3. Turn the cylinder on by turning the valve counter-clockwise (to the left).
  4. Push the burner control knob in and turn to START/HI ( ).
  5. Push the red ignition button several times so it clicks each time.
  6. Push the electronic ignition button several times. You will hear it spark.
  7. Check that the burner is lit by looking down through the cooking grate. You should see a flame.
  8. To extinguish, push in and turn the burner control knob clockwise to the OFF position.

IMPORTANT:  If the burner does not light, turn the burner control knob to OFF and wait 5 minutes to let the gas clear before you try again.  DO NOT fold in tables until the barbecue is cold.  If you continue to be unable to light the BBQ, please contact Reception for assistance.

Please ensure the gas cylinder is turned off after each use.

DUCKS
We kindly ask guests NOT to encourage the ducks onto the property by feeding them, as they will leave a mess on the patio and inside the house.
