3 McKillop lane Property Manual

All of our Resort Homes and Luxury Retreat properties have been specifically tailored and designed to the requirements of individual owners, making your stay a unique experience.  Within this manual we have included some information specific to this property relating to the operation of various components found within the house.   We would like to remind you that this is a residential area with neighbouring properties and we ask that noise levels are kept to a minimum. Should any accidental damage occur, please inform a member of staff immediately to avoid any additional charges being incurred. Thank you for your care and consideration.

PHONES
Millbrook’s Hotel system is linked to the phone/s in this property.

PRIVATE STORAGE
The owner has various cupboards and/or rooms around the property locked for private storage.

RUBBISH
There is an Insinkerator® located in your kitchen sink. Here you can dispose of soft food scraps and vegetable peel. To operate the Insinkerator®, put the items you want to dispose of down the drain, run the cold tap and press the button behind the sink to start the grinding.  Press the button again to stop the machine.  Please do not place chicken, fish or meat bones, banana skins (or any fibrous or hard foods) in the Insinkerator®.

There are rubbish bins located in the drawer to the right of the sink. Outside of the property there is a GENERAL WASTE rubbish bin (red lid) which are collected on a Monday and a GLASS BOTTLE rubbish bin (blue lid) which are collected on a Friday. Please rinse all bottles and remove any lids before disposing of them to avoid contamination. 

FIRE EXTINGUISHER
A small fire extinguisher can be found under the kitchen sink.

  1. Pull the pin on the extinguisher.
  2. Aim the nozzle toward the base of the fire.
  3. Squeeze the handle to release the extinguisher agent.
  4. Sweep from side to side until the flames are extinguished.

If the extinguisher is emptied and the fire is still not out, evacuate the property immediately.

CEILING FAN
The remote control for the fan can be found on the wall to the left as you enter the TV Room.  To turn on the fan, you must first ensure the switch to the right of the remote control is on. 

  1. Press the  button.
  2. Press  and  to increase or decrease the fan speed.
  3. Press  to change the direction of the fan.

HEATING

UNDER-FLOOR HEATING (BATHROOMS, KITCHEN & DINING)
The control panels (on the wall in each bathroom and in the kitchen) are pre-programmed to a specific heat setting.  However, the heating can be adjusted as follows:

  1. Press the POWER button on the bottom right corner.
  2. To adjust the temperature, push the temperature reading.
  3. Use the arrows to adjust, then push DONE on the left.

PANEL HEATERS (BEDROOMS)
Ensure they are plugged in and switched on at the wall and simply turn the dial to the desired heat level.

GAS FIREPLACE (LOUNGE)
To light the fire:

  1. Ensure the FAN switch on the wall to the right of the fireplace is turned on.
  2. Remove the black metal plate at the bottom of the fireplace to expose the ignition dial.
  3. Hold the knob in for approximately 3 seconds and turn to the left until you hear a clicking sound.
  4. Hold the knob in for a further 3-5 seconds until you see the flame ignite. If the flame doesn’t ignite, repeat steps 1-4.
  5. Move the knob further to the left to adjust the size of the flames.
  6. To turn off the fireplace, push the knob in and turn it to the right until it’s in the OFF position, then turn off the FAN switch on the wall.

NB:  Please do not place the fireguard too close to the fire as it may get too hot to touch.  For safety, please ensure all gas appliances are turned off when the property is unattended.

KITCHEN
The kitchen is equipped with the following appliances for your convenience:

HOB
The stovetop is an induction hob.  Please only use the pots and pans provided on this surface to avoid damage.  The elements won’t glow like conventional electric hobs so be careful not to touch them if they are on.  To use the hob:

  1. Turn on by pressing the  button on the bottom left corner of the display panel.
  2. Place your cookware on the element (small elements at the top, larger at the bottom). Do not place empty cookware on the element, allow them to boil dry or try to heat up the element without the cookware on top.
  3. Touch the control bar at the heat setting and move your finger to the right to reach the desired cooking temperature (do not release before you have the correct heat setting).

OVEN
Choose the type of cooking desired using the dial on the left of the oven (see images for explanation), and to control the temperature use the dial on the right.

MICROWAVE
For quick use:

  1. Push the amount of time you require from the panel on the right e.g. for 25 minutes push 10 min twice and 1 min five times.
  2. Press the START button.
  3. When finished cooking, push the STOP/RESET button.

EXTRACTOR FAN
The operating panel can be found on the underside of the extractor fan.

  1. The first switch on the left side turns on the light.
  2. The second switch turns on the fan and the third and fourth switches provide stronger extraction.
  3. To turn off the fan, press the second button on the left twice.

DISHWASHER
The dishwasher tablets are located in the cupboard under the sink.

  1. Turn on the dishwasher using the  button.
  2. Load your dishes into the dish drawer.
  3. Place your dishwashing tablet in the tablet tray and close the door.
  4. Press the arrow button on the left of the display panel until you get the desired dishwashing setting.
  5. Press the arrow button on the right to begin the wash cycle (this button will also pause the cycle if needed).

     

LAUNDRY
For your convenience, the property is equipped with a washing machine and a dryer, as well as an iron and ironing board.

WASHING MACHINE
For quick use:

  1. Open the detergent draw on the top left of the machine and place the washing powder in the middle draw marked II and then close the draw.
  2. Place clothes inside the washing machine and close the door.
  3. Turn the program knob clockwise to choose the desired wash type.
  4. Press the START/PAUSE button to start the wash cycle.

TUMBLE DRYER
For quick use:

  1. Place clothes inside the dyer and close the door.
  2. Turn the program knob clockwise to choose the desired drying cycle.
  3. Press the START/PAUSE button to start the drying cycle.

HOME ENTERTAINMENT

TV (LOUNGE & MASTER BEDROOM)

  1. Ensure a green light is displayed on the SKY box – if it’s red, point the SKY remote at the box and press the  button on the top right corner.
  2. To turn on the TV, press the red button on the PANASONIC remote control (to get a full-screen picture, press the OK button in the middle of the remote control).
  3. To adjust the TV channels and volume use the SKY remote control.
  4. To turn off the TV, press the red  button on the PANASONIC remote again.  Please keep SKY box switched on for ease of use.

BLUETOOTH® SPEAKER (TV ROOM)
The wireless Bluetooth® speaker can be found on a shelf in the TV Room.

  1. Ensure the speaker is switched on at the wall.
  2. Press the  button on the top left corner of the speaker and also push the AUX button.
  3. On your mobile device, go into your settings and turn on your Bluetooth® feature.
  4. From the device list, select Bose87 and begin playing music.

OUTDOORS

GAS BBQ
IMPORTANT:  Open the hood before you light the burner.

  1. Twist the gas bottle cap to the left to get the gas flowing from the bottle to the BBQ.
  2. To ignite, follow the instructions printed beside the burner knobs on the BBQ.

For safety, please ensure all gas appliances are turned off when the property is unattended.

PATIO AWNING
If using the patio awning for shade, please ensure it is wound back to a closed position after use, during rainfall or during heavy winds.

DUCKS
We kindly ask guests NOT to encourage the ducks onto the property by feeding them, as they will leave a mess on the patio and inside the house.
