Tell us about yourself.
My name is Steph and I am a kind, honest and sincere professional who finds a lot of joy in helping others. I am thrilled to be Millbrook’s Wedding Executive as this role allows me to combine my love for people with my passion for planning and organisation. When I’m not at work, I enjoy heading out for brunch at local cafes, playing golf here at Millbrook, going on walks around Queenstown and surrounding areas and catching up with my friends and family from Canada as much as possible. Living away from my family can be tough sometimes, but New Zealand feels like home to me and I feel very grateful to be able to live here - it’s been an incredible experience so far!
What do you love most about your job?
I sincerely love weddings and the beautiful moments I get to witness being created on a couple’s special day. There is nothing more heart-warming than seeing the smiles and emotions shared by friends and families once they see the couple reunite at the front of the aisle and exchange their vows. I also love that I am able to meet a lot of different people throughout the year, build connections and of course help couples organise their special day.
What is it that makes a Millbrook wedding so special?
The people and location are definitely what make a wedding at Millbrook so special. The Millbrook team is incredibly friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. It does feel like we are all one big family and I feel like our guests can sense that as well. Millbrook is also an incredible destination being completely surrounded by mountains and two unbelievable 18-hole golf courses. I am still blown away every day by how beautiful the resort is!
Do you have any tips for choosing a wedding theme?
I think it’s important to find a theme that will reflect your interests and what’s important to both of you. Incorporating things that you love is always a great idea and will make your day extra special. However, at the end of the day the most important thing is to have fun and enjoy your special day with your loved ones!
Millbrook has so many beautiful venues to choose from, how do you advise couples to make the most of this stunning location?
Each venue has its own charm and can be decorated beautifully. To make the most of this amazing location, I would recommend communicating your thoughts and expectations with the Millbrook team so we can make suggestions and assist in organising your wedding day and/or weekend based on what would suit you best as a couple.
