Daniel Leonard

I have always had a passion for health and fitness, and I am most comfortable in a gym environment. I specialise in strength training, mobility and cardiovascular fitness. I believe the psychological benefits of exercise are imperative for good mental health, enabling us to be agile, physically fit and mentally strong.  Exercise provides us with the longevity we need to survive and thrive in life.

I am a huge sports fan and outside the gym I enjoy playing football (my main love), golfing, and snowboarding during winter. I also coach football to under 16’s, encouraging the next generation to be active and develop skills through football. This has been a very rewarding experience. I have a career background in customer service and sales but decided to follow my passion and pursue a career in health and fitness. As they say, “do something you’re passionate about, and you never have to work a day in your life.” So, I decided to study whilst working full time and pursue my dream of becoming a personal trainer in 2021.

For myself, the gym is about building up relationships, having fun, providing support, creating healthy habits, improving lifestyle, building confidence, higher self-esteem and the feel-good dopamine release from exercise is so rewarding after a workout, that’s what keeps us coming back for more!

Repetition and performing specific exercises correctly will inevitability evolve to achieving results.

‘The only workout you will regret is the one you didn’t do’

My love for health and fitness stemmed from the need to stay active to keep up with my three children and to continually challenge myself. I appreciate staying fit, not only for the amazing physical benefits, but maybe even more importantly, optimising mental health. I believe with greater life experience comes a greater level of empathy and understanding of others.

We are absolutely spoilt for choice with the myriad of opportunities and activities available to us in the Central Otago area, let alone Queenstown itself. Let’s work together to guarantee you are gaining the most benefits and performing at your optimum level in whatever those interests or activities may be. Potentially spark a new passion?

I am experienced in strength and conditioning, muscular endurance, speed and agility, calisthenics and plyometrics. Obstacle racing, the balance of strength, muscular endurance and cardio fitness are extremely challenging yet very rewarding.

When I’m not in the gym, you can find me out trail biking, trail running, spending time with my family, watching kids’ sports games or trying new things. I am always seeking new experiences and enjoy meeting new people. I am looking forward to working with you, so together we can discover the best possible way to smash your goals and progress your health and fitness journey.

Throughout this time, I have worked with males and females of all ages and abilities motivating each and every person to live a healthier, happier life.
